Wednesday, September 30, 14 Wing Greenwood and the Defence Indigenous Advisory group invites Defence Team members, their families and the wider community to join in events marking National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
From 8 a.m., gather on base at 26 Canadian Forces Health Services. A reminder attendees ages 16 years and above will require a govenment-issued photo ID to pass through the 14 Wing gate.
At 8:30 a.m., events begin with a flag-raising at 26 CFHS, with opening remarks In case of inclement weather, the flag-raising will be followed at 8:45 a.m. by a gathering, speeches and smudge in the Annapolis Mess.
At 8:50, walk from 26 CFHS along Swordfish Drive, through the Kingswood Road gate, along Church Street, turning right on Ward Road to pass through the 14 Wing main gate and end at 26 CFHS.
At 9:15 a.m., everyone is welcome for a smudge and speeches. The event will close by 10:30 a.m.
