Opportunity Shop support adds up

,

The Greenwood Health Auxiliary is pleased to share, thanks to generous donations, dedicated customers and devoted volunteers at the Opportunity Shop; $30,500 raised through 2025 will be distributed to local community health programs and services, and provide three $1,500 bursaries.

The Opportunity Shop is operated by volunteers of the Greenwood Health Auxiliary and is located in the Greenwood Mall, just around the corner from Cleve’s Source for Sports. The GHA is extremely grateful for the many kind donations of a wide variety of items received throughout the year. New and next to new clothing, footwear and other fabric items that are clean, stain- and odour-free, as well as kitchen items and small appliances in good working condition; for resale are appreciated. As shop display and storage space is limited, furniture, large toys and electronics are not accepted. All of the merchandise is reasonably priced, with no sales tax added. Payment for items is by cash only. Watch for occasional $5 and $15 special bag sales. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Opportunity Shop is celebrating its 65th anniversary in 2026, a vital part of the Greenwood Heath Auxiliary’s success and a valuable, economical and environmental part of our community. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, drop by the Opportunity Shop, or kindly call President Mary Osmond at 902-765-3063.
