, , ,

September 30, join the 14 Wing Greenwood Defence Indigenous Advisory Group and mark National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Everyone is welcome. Attendees are encouraged to wear an orange T-shirt.

From 8 a.m., gather at 26 Canadian Forces Health Services, across from the Annapolis Mess. The CFHS parking lot will be closed unless accessible parking is required.

At 8:30 a.m., there will be a flag-raising. Welcome remarks will be followed by a community walk, starting from the CFHS parking lot, along Swordfish Drive, through the Residential Housing Units’ gate from Kingswood Road, and along Church Street, turning right on Ward Road to pass through the 14 Wing main gate and end at the Birchall Training Centre. At 9:15 a.m., on the Birchall lawn, join in a smudge and welcome speeches (bring a folding chair or blanket if you like). The event will close at 10:30 a.m.

In case of inclement weather, the 8:30 a.m. flag-raising will be followed at 8:45 a.m.by a gathering, speeches and the smudge in the Annapolis Mess.
