Monthly veterans’ club welcomes military, RCMP

The Royal Canadian Legion, Kentville Branch 006 will launch a new initiative, the Veterans’ Club, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kentville Legion, 37 River Street.

The Veterans’ Club is a welcoming space dedicated to honouring, engaging and supporting veterans, both serving and retired members of the military and RCMP. The club aims to foster camaraderie, provide recreation and connect veterans with meaningful resources and opportunities. Objectives including building a strong sense of community, supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being; honouring the service and sacrifices of veterans and reducing social isolation through meaningful engagement.

Activities and opportunities may include game nights, with cards, trivia and board games to encourage teamwork and fun PS5 video games; workshops and classes, from art therapy to cooking, fostering creativity and skill-building; outdoor activities, including mini golf, corn hole, archery and nature walks; and resource fairs, in partnership with local organizations, to connect veterans with benefits and supports.
