The winners of the 57th Annual Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Imagery Contest were announced January 14, including one 14 Wing Greenwood photographer.
14 Operations Support Squadron Aviator Colin Carroll won the Military Community Life category, presented at a squadron gathering December 20 by 14 Wing Colonel Luc Vachon, along with a Wing Commander’s Commendation.
“Carroll’s achievement highlights the talent and dedication found within 14 Wing and showcases the wing’s positive contributions to the broader military community,” the citation read.
The CAF Imagery contest is all about celebrating the beauty found within the military community, from family gatherings and scenic vacations to sports tournaments or special work events. Entries were submitted from across the country for the categories of Military Community Life, Military Operations and Canadian Pride; from both professional and amateur photographers that were either service members or family members of defence community members.
This year, to commemorate the RCAF Centennial, the CAF Imagery Contest hosted the separate category, Your Air Force, hoping to honour the RCAF’s history and heritage, recognize the dedication of past and present air force personnel, and inspire future generations of Canadians.
CAF Imagery Contest submissions will open again in the fall.
