December 13, the 14 Wing Greenwood men’s Bombers hockey team will host a charity game at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood Gardens Arena. Meeting the Bombers will be an all-star line-up of local Valley players who have played competitive hockey, including at Junior and university levels. It should be a highly-skilled, fast-paced game to help the Bombers prepare for CAF Atlantic regionals, January 20 to 24, here in Greenwood.
At last year’s match against the 12 Wing Shearwater men’s team, the Bombers raised 266 pounds of food and $85 in cash for the Upper Room Food Bank in Kingston. This year, they hope to surpass this amount, so please bring a food donation or a freewill offering for collection at the door. The team hopes to see a full arena and lots of support as everyone heads into the holiday season.
If anyone would like to volunteer with food/ cash collection at the door, or run the clock/ play music, etc., during the event; please reach out to Corporal Tyler Williams (tyler.williams@forces.gc.ca) or Major Michael Hiltz (Michael.hiltz@forces.gc.ca).
