“Working together to see as one” exemplifies the 14 Wing Greenwood vision of affording all civilian and military members the opportunity for a diverse and welcoming work environment. And promoting the values and prosperity of diversity in the workplace in the interest of enhancing the operational capabilities of the base.
To support this vision, 14 Wing has five defence advisory groups (DAGs): the Defence Indigenous Advisory Group (DIAG), the Defence Visible Minorities Group (DVMAG), the Defence Women’s Advisory Organization (DWAO), the Defence Advisory Group for Persons with Disabilities (DAGPED), and the Defence Team Pride Advisory Organization (DTPAO). These groups provide unfettered advice and grassroots insight to Department of National Defense and Canadian Armed Forces leadership on issues relevant to their respective designated group on the implementation of employment equity and diversity across the Defence Team.
Your input is vital in identifying issues and formulating proposals that will assist in eliminating barriers, and increase the sense of belonging for all Defence Team members. ll military members and civilian employees may participate in any of the DAGs, regardless of the individuals’ ethnicity, gender, orientation, etc.
Currently, the DVMAG is seeking to fill its civilian co-chair position.
If you are interested in participating in change – even in the smallest way, or are just seeking additional information, contact any of the members listed under “Contacts” on the Employment Equity and Diversity page (found under “Quick Links” on the Greenwood Splashpage), or the Wings Culture Evolution Coordinator, Major Backhouse, 902-765-1494 local 568-1643.
