Swordfish mark change of command April 18

14 Wing Greenwood will see a change of command ceremony Thursday, April 18, for 415 (Long Range Patrol Force Development) Squadron.

Current commanding officer Lieutenant-Colonel Keith Fugger will turn the unit over to the incoming commanding officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Pierre-Luc Lafontaine.

Fugger joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1996 as an air navigator, graduating from the Royal Military College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Space Science. He was an acoustics sensor officer, later became a tactical navigator and then completed the Aerospace Systems Course in Winnipeg. He has had 14 Wing postings at 405 Squadron, the Maritime Proving & Evaluation Unit and as deputy commanding officer of both 415 Squadron and 14 Operations Support Squadron. Fugger is releasing from the Canadian Armed Forces after 28 years of service. He looks forward to new opportunities for himself and his family.

Lafontaine is currently employed as the Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) Transition Team Lead at 14 Wing. He enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2007, received his pilot wings in 2011 and was previously posted to Greenwood with 405 Squadron.

The change of command ceremony will be invitation only April 18, 10 a.m., at the Annapolis Mess.
