CE officers put building, leadership skills to the test

,

Candidates from Construction Engineering Officer Course 0006 and technicians from across Canada completed various construction projects mid-November, at the Lake Pleasant Campground during EX TIMBERWOLF SAPPER.

This exercise typically evaluates CEOC candidates on their ability to lead a flight of CE technicians to accomplish engineer-related tasks in a simulated high threat environment.

During this exercise at Lake Pleasant, they constructed new floating docks, completed various upgrades to the hard ablutions located on the camp (plumbing upgrades and insulation), as well as constructed new decks for cabins. This opportunity allowed technicians to showcase their talents, provide guidance to the young officers on training and deliver some much needed TLC to the Lake Pleasant Campground.

Among the technicians who provided support to this exercise were several individuals from 14 Construction Engineering Squadron, a unit of 14 Wing Greenwood.

Lake Pleasant is a Personnel Support Program operation in Springfield, close to 14 Wing Greenwood. With cabins, RV and tenting sites, a main lodge, washroom blocks and outdoor spaces; the campground offers the Defence Team, veterans and the wider community outdoor seasonal getaway fun.
