October 25 start of 7Arts’ next workshop series
Beginning October 25, 7Arts in Greenwood will be offering its mask-making workshop for military members, veterans, spouses or their children age 16 or older.
This expressive arts mask-making workshop offers a supportive space to explore identity, resilience and healing through creativity. No art experience is required, just a willingness to show up as you are. The workshop runs for four weeks on Sundays (one two-hour session per week), as you plan your mask and meet other group members, then build your mask base with plaster, sculpt your mask with clay and, finally, paint and add mask details. There are separate workshops for each group. There are opportunities to socialize, learn new skills and express things you haven’t been able to. Discussions that happen during the program are confidential. At the end of the workshop, participants will have their own unique mask to take home.
These mask-making workshops are free, funded by True Patriot Love and the Nova Scotia/ Nunavut Command – The Royal Canadian Legion.
