September 20, 14 Wing Greenwood will close Central Avenue to vehicle access from the YMCA entrance to Kingswood Road for the Battle of Britain Parade. The closure will take place from 10:15 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. to allow the parade to safely cross the street. The public can expect some delays on Ward Road and Central Avenue during this time.
As part of the parade, a CP140 Aurora from 14 Wing Greenwood will also conduct a fly past over 904 Central Avenue, Greenwood, at approximately 10:30 a.m. The aircraft will be at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level.
Members of the public are invited to attend the Battle of Britain Ceremony to commemorate its 86th anniversary. The ceremony will be held at 904 Central Avenue at 10 a.m. A service of commemoration will also be held at St. Mark’s Chapel at 2 p.m.
