Saturday, August 29, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.; the annual 14 Wing Greenwood RCAF Triathlon takes its second swim, spin and run around the base.
Military and civilian athletes are welcome to challenge themselves – and compete – in this one-of-a-kind race experience, set entirely on an operational Royal Canadian Air Force wing: segments of the route will follow along the base runways and airfield, sure to be active with at-the-ready and operational aircraft.
There are several race options: the sprint triathlon (750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run), the try-a-tri (300 m swim, 11 km bike, 2.5-3 km run), relay teams (two or three people for the sprint triathlon distance), para open division (adaptive equipment permitted), and the command team challenge (14 Wing units’ head-to-head relay and fitness challenge).
This is a Triathlon NS race series event, with chip timing, on course aid stations, finisher medals and an awards ceremony.
