The Kings County Trails Society will hold its annual general meeting June 25 at 7 p.m. in the Banks Room at the Waterville fire hall, 14 15 County Home Road.

Members of the public are invited to attend, learn more about the society’s work and hear about ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the Harvest Moon Trailway between Cambridge and Kingston.

The Kings County Trails Society is a volunteer-led organization responsible for managing this section of the Harvest Moon Trailway, a well-used recreational corridor that supports walking, cycling, ATV use, snowmobiling and active transportation throughout the region. Each year, volunteers and partners work to keep the trail safe, accessible and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike. Annual trail maintenance includes grading, mowing, brush trimming, surface repairs, bridge repairs, sign and gate replacement, and other improvements required to preserve the trail for public use.

The society gratefully acknowledges financial support received from the Municipality of the County of Kings, the Trans Canada Trail, the Province of Nova Scotia Recreational Trail Fund, and the Off Highway Vehicle Fund. This support, combined with the dedication of local volunteers, makes the continued care and improvement of the trail possible.

The AGM will include updates on the society’s recent work, planned maintenance activities, and opportunities for community members to get involved. Refreshments will be served. For information, contact society secretary Steve Krysak, steve.krysak@gmail.com
