June 6, the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, a worldwide torch relay, makes a stop in Kingston.
Since its founding in 1987, the run has visited almost every country on Earth: over 150 nations and territories, and touched the lives of millions of people. The 2026 three-week Atlantic Canada Peace Run team includes runners from Canada, Australia, Mexico, USA, Switzerland, Slovakia, Uzbekistan and Romania. They will be at the Kingston Farmers’ Market site, outside the Aurora Inn, from about 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. June 6 to greet the community and provide an opportunity for everyone to hold the lit Peace Torch – and make a wish for peace.
