Athletes, teams, coaches, volunteers, officials: May 15 wing-level Sports Awards tee up potential national recognition
14 Wing Greenwood is looking for top athletes, the best teams, coaches with the mostest, fair-eyed and focused officials, skilled trainers and volunteers who make it all happen. The achievements, contributions and effort of wing sports through 2025 will be recognized at the May 15 wing-level Sports Awards, with some nominations moving forward to the annual 2025 Canadian Armed Forces Sports Achievement Awards. Nominations for both the 2026 CAF Sports Honour Roll and Hall of Fame are also being accepted.
The wing and CAF sports awards programs recognize serving and former members of the CAF for outstanding athletic performances and remarkable contribution to sport. Civilians may also be recognized for their dedication to the sports program.
Sports Achievement Awards nominations should recognize 2025 success, contributions and impact. Categories include male and female athlete, coach of the year, trainer of the year, team of the year, official of the year and nominees for the CAF Sports Honour Roll (sports career experience will be considered). The 2026 CAF Sports Hall of Fame will accept nominations for members’ military sport record only, and nominees must have concluded their sporting career.
The Dedication to CAF Sports Awards – Military Only and Civilian Only – nominations should recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals or groups to the CAF sports program – those who have gone above and beyond to provide time, effort and support to the promotion and development of CAF sports.
The final recognition open for nominations, through Soldier On, is the Unconquered Award, open to serving or retired CAF members who have confronted a life-altering illness or injury and demonstrated resilience through their participation or commitment to sport, recreation or creative endeavours.
