14 Wing Greenwood will celebrate sport and recreation – and fun – Friday, May 15, with both the 2025 14 Wing Sports Awards and the local version of the RCAF Run. Events are open to 14 Wing Defence Team members and family.
Join 14 Wing peers at the Annapolis Mess for the 9 a.m. Sports Awards, honouring 2025 success in individual and team athletics, coaching, officiating and volunteering. Light refreshments will be available.
From 7:30 a.m., on-site check in for the wing’s RCAF Run ’26 will also be open outside the Mess. As you check in, Defence Team members (only) will be eligible to complete an RCAF Run prize draw ballot. Following the Sports Awards, gather outside to prepare for the event starts: the 10 km run will warm up at 10 a.m. and start at 10:15 a.m.; the 5 km run/ walk will warm up at 10:30 a.m. and start at 10:40 a.m.
All distances and routes will finish at the Church Street Community Centre. Here, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., participants are invited to take in the free BBQ, hosted by the Aylesford Lions (hamburgers, hot dogs, cheeseburgers and fried onions), outdoor games and the RCAF Run prize draws. The draws include $1,500 in assorted value goods and certificates. There will also be a cash beer garden (19+) and music.
No pets will be allowed at the Mess, on the RCAF Run route or at the Community Centre (service animals welcome).
