Logistics trades mark 58 years of making a difference

14 Wing Greenwood’s logisticians came from across the base and across the trades to celebrate January 30, with February 1 marking the 58th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Logistics Service.

Military and civilian personnel who work in supply chain management, transportation, human resource management, finance, food services, postal and ammunition trades bundled up for a -11 degrees Celsius, early morning, breezy flag-raising outside 2 Hangar.

“This is a proud milestone, and I’m proud of our large community of logisticians,” said 14 Mission Support Squadron Lieutenant-Colonel Shawn McGeown. “How honored I am to be a logistician here, and serve with all of you!

“At home and abroad, we’ve always supported the work with our skills sets, and coming together as a collective. What you do truly matters, and makes a difference.”

Logisticians took some time for a bowling party through the morning, and then gathered at the Annapolis Mess for a cake – carefully made by the wing’s Replenishment Flight cooks, and afternoon social.

“This is all an opportunity to recognize our history and service as a logistics corps – happy birthday!”
