The Kingston Greenwood Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for its 2026 class of inductees. This prestigious recognition celebrates outstanding contributions to sports within the Kingston/ Greenwood area, including past and present 14 Wing Greenwood military members who have competed in military sports.
Categories for nomination include athletes, teams, coaches and builders. Nominees must have participated in a sport within the Kingston/ Greenwood region and/ or represented 14 Wing Greenwood in local, regional, national or military competitions. All nominations remain valid for five years, without the need for re-nomination. The selection committee will determine the number of individuals or teams to be inducted annually from all categories. Each nomination should include as much information as possible, along with photographs and memorabilia to assist the selection committee. The deadline for submissions is March 2.
The second induction ceremony will take place in the Fall of 2026 (date to be announced). The inaugural event, held October 25 at the 14 Wing Greenwood Annapolis Mess, was an overwhelming success, with more than 250 attendees. The 2025 inductees included Ken Wregget, Barb McKeil, Gerry MacMillan, Ernie Hatfield, the 1977-79 Greenwood Girls’ Bantam Softball Team and the 1976-79 Greenwood Bantam A Bombers Hockey Team.
