14 Wing Greenwood’s Fire Emergency Services firefighters – and Sparky! – made their first fire alarm testing call for Fire Prevention Week, October 5 to 11, to headquarters.
After a quick evacuation of the building, Wing Commander Colonel Luc Vachon read a prepared proclamation, highlighting the wing’s commitment to the safety and security of the Defence Team, families and base visitors. This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” with education on devices that use them, safe charging and proper disposal.
