The CC295 Kingfisher, the Royal Canadian Air Force’s new fixed-wing search and rescue aircraft, arrived at 14 Wing Greenwood, August 10, at 413 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron.
413 Squadron aircrew and technicians have undergone training at 418 (Search and Rescue Operational Training) Squadron at 19 Wing Comox, and are ready to begin training on the aircraft at 14 Wing. Over the next few months, personnel will become more familiar with CC295 Kingfisher operations and maintenance, and aircrews will begin limited training flights.
While training on the CC295 Kingfisher is underway, 413 Squadron will continue to operate the CC130 Hercules to ensure continuity of fixed-wing search and rescue service on the East Coast.
