14 Wing Greenwood is looking back on the birthday that was through 2024, the centennial anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The wing did its bit to celebrate and, May 8, recognized the community partners who helped make the party perfect.

14 Wing Colonel Luc Vachon and Wing Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Proulx, with RCAF100 committee leads Captain Adam Gorman and Master Corporal Sandi McLean, welcomed signature sponsors to headquarters for recognition and thanks.

“A lot of things happened, a lot of great events, with a great story about the RCAF all over the country – and here at the wing as well,” Vachon said, detailing a family day, multiple TGIF events, an anniversary gala and New Year’s Eve celebration, a themed Winter Carnival and more.

“Your support helped our events, and you helped us ‘show and shine’ in the community and show people what the RCAF is all about. We’re very appreciative. Thank you.”

Vachon also encouraged the community to reach into 14 Wing, and ask for help and involvement in special events that take place in the wider community, where military members and their families live, volunteer, work, attend school and more.

“Don’t hesitate – we do get involved, and there are things we can help participate with you in the community.”

14 Wing presented sponsor appreciation plaques and goodie baskets – with RCAF100 swag and specialty 14 Wing items, to EXIT Realty Town & Country (platinum), Sobey’s Greenwood (silver), ReMax Banner Real Estate Greenwood (silver), Michael Bishop Accounting (silver) and Nathanson Seaman Watts (silver). McDonalds Greenwood and IMP Aerospace were recognized for their gold-level sponsorship with later presentations.
