Water in a dry land. Refreshment for our soul. An oasis in the wilderness. Peace in the chaos of life.
If you would enjoy a mid-week, mid-day Christian service, the 14 Wing Greenwood Protestant chaplains offer a Wednesday gathering they are calling “Oasis – A Service of Rest and Renewal.” While the short service will retain some traditional and liturgical elements, the intent is that it will also be less formal, more relaxed and personal. For example, those attending will gather in a circle in couches and chairs, instead of using standard pews. While it is religious in nature, Oasis may also be experienced and understood as a mid-week time for self-care: nurture your mind and soul.
After approximately 30 minutes of worship, enjoy light refreshments, conversation and friendship. Bring your lunch if you wish.
Oasis will be hosted at St. Mark’s Protestant Chapel, Church Street, Greenwood; every Wednesday, 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. All are welcome. For more information on Oasis, contact Captain Kayla Colford, kayla.colford@forces.gc.ca or 902-760-1372.
