Fall Positive Space course dates opportunity to learn more about our diversity

,

Hormones, chromosomes, genes? Identity, expression, orientation?

Did the social media firestorm and following kerfuffle over the Algerian woman boxer at the Olympics make you confused or frustrated?

While the Defence Team Positive Space Program is designed for peer support of 2SLGBTQIA+ DT members as well as those not part of the pride community, it is an excellent opportunity to learn how to support those who live outside the simplistic binary of male and female as well as exploring the diversity within the human species, while acknowledging a history of past failures.

For DT members who wish to become Positive Space Ambassadors, allies, or if you’re just wanting to learn more, check out upcoming opportunities and sign-up at Course and events (mil.ca). Currently scheduled two-day sessions are September 17 and 18, October 29 and 30, and November 19 and 20. There are also a series of “micro lessons” on DLN 3.0 (search Positive Space) which, upon completion, will award you a Micro Certificate on Diversity and Inclusion you may add to your Feedback Notes.
