Natasha’s Wood Foundation proudly announces a successful collaboration with Google Canada and Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) to provide a transformative coding program for teens from military communities. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the foundation’s mission to empower youth through education and technology.
In the fall of 2023, Natasha’s Wood Foundation facilitated an introduction between Google Canada and CFMWS to offer a coding program aimed at equipping teens from military families with essential skills for the digital age. This collaboration underscores the foundation’s role as a community enabler, connecting key players to achieve common objectives and empower the next generation. Following the remarkable success of the coding program, Natasha’s Wood Foundation is pleased to announce continued funding, made possible through the generosity of its patrons Landing Zones, PLC Construction, and PAL Aerospace. This funding will ensure the continuation of the coding program, enabling more youth from military families to access valuable STEM education opportunities and eliminating financial barriers that families may face.
“We are so grateful this program will have sustained funding, thanks to the mobilization of partners who believe in supporting the military community. To date, 83 teens have registered for the program and countless others will now also have the opportunity. It’s one more program to help teens who may be struggling with some of the challenges of relocation or dealing with aa parent’s frequent absence,” says Ian Poulter, CEO, CFMWS.
