Wing Fund win on CAF Sports Day

Greenwood CANEX manager Terry Stuart jokes the $137,536 he and SISIP representative Alison Reid brought to the October 19 14 Wing Greenwood CAF Sports Day lunch-time BBQ was what they paid for their hot dogs.

Seriously, the giant cheque represents what CANEX and SISIP were able to generate in local business and services through 2022, now coming back to 14 Wing Greenwood’s Wing Fund to support morale and welfare programs for the community who contributed to the total with their store purchase and financial investments.

“Every time a member uses us – CANEX or SISIP, that money gets returned right back to 14 Wing,” Stuart said. “A big thank you goes out for the support of 14 Wing members for making this happen. When you buy a washing machine, it comes back to you.”

Wing Commander Colonel Jeff Davis and Wing Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Proulx were happy to catch a break from sports day fun – and even happier to accept the dividend on behalf of Wing Fund.

“This contribution from CANEX and SISIP is a great boost for the morale and welfare programs, and supports what we are able to offer our 14 Wing personnel and their families,” said Davis. “It’s good knowing the money is coming back into our community. Shopping local and taking advantage of the programs and advice of CANEX and SISIP advisors creates further opportunity.”
