A big knife and some quick math made short work of divvying up a celebratory cake June 15, as 14 Wing Greenwood served up every piece to civilian personnel marking National Public Service Week.
Wing leadership hosted a coffee and cake morning at the Annapolis Café, inviting all base civilians and their military supervisors and managers to join them.
“This year’s National Public Service Week theme is ‘proudly serving Canadians,’” said Wing Commander Colonel Jeff Davis. “We’re here to celebrate you – the great 14 Wing public servants, and the work you do. The past year’s work and what you’ve accomplished, and looking forward to new projects and new work as we move forward together. Congratulations!”
Wing Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Proulx acknowledged the wing operates as “one team, but it’s important to appreciate what you do here on the wing when it comes to executing something.
“You make the military all look good, day-to-day,” Proulx said. “We’re transient, and we rely on you. Thank you for those contributions.”
June 11 to 17 was National Public Service Week, recognizing public servants and the work they do in support of, particularly, the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
