The Greenwood Military Aviation Museum has introduced new guided tours, currently available until September.
This will be the first time the museum offers daily tours, and Alex Dupuis is excited to be a part of the new program. After completing a Bachelor of Arts with a major in history, Dupuis was hired as the GMAM’s summer student employee while on break from his current teaching degree studies. He hopes, through these tours, the museum will be able to provide visitors with a more meaningful museum experience.
“My whole life, my hobby has been military aircraft history. I knew this job was the perfect fit for me.”
Dupuis is currently offering both general tours and themed tours, such as a Second World War-themed tour June 6, marking the D-Day invasion. Both tour types are scheduled daily, and typically range from 30 minutes to an hour. The program is designed with flexibility in mind to give visitors the best experience possible, while still having time to visit the rest of the museum after their tour. In addition to the main displays, Dupuis also includes visits of the annex, restoration area and air park, where guests have the opportunity to view display aircraft up close and access selected interiors.
Find out more at GMAM.ca, and watch their Facebook Page for upcoming tour timings and themes, special events and DYK? posts filled with aviation-related history. Tours are free, and donations to the museum are welcome.
