January 28, at 11:29 a.m., the Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre tasked a Cormorant helicopter from 14 Wing Greenwood, with 413 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron, to conduct a medevac of a possible heart attack patient off the fishing vessel Grumpy’s Boys, in the vicinity of Yarmouth. Rescue 906 departed Greenwood at 12:31 p.m. The medevac was completed around 2 p.m., and the patient transferred to ambulance ashore in Yarmouth; the Cormorant returned to Greenwood at 2:45 p.m.
January 30, at 6:55 p.m., JRCC tasked a Greenwood Cormorant to assist the fishing vessel, Midnight Bandit, reportedly taking on water with four people on board, near Sable Island. Rescue 906 left Greenwood at 6:47 p.m. En route, a vessel of opportunity was able to provide a pump to the Midnight Bandit, allowing crew to reduce the water level and conduct repairs. All SAR assets stood down, and Rescue 906 returned to Greenwood at 10:04 p.m.
February 10, just after 4 p.m., Halifax JRCC tasked a Greenwood Cormorant to conduct a medevac of a 62-year-old man with a traumatic brain injury from Grand Manan Island. The helicopter left Greenwood at 4:47 p.m., and was on scene at 7:37 p.m. to retrieve the patient and head to hospital in St. John’s. The Cormorant returned to Greenwood at 9:06 p.m.
