Crosscountry ski trails will return with Greenwood snowfall

,

14 Wing Greenwood’s recreational spaces are readying for winter, and the return of the SCOTIA XC Ski Club.

Last winter, the cross-county skiing club developed and groomed close to eight kilometres of trails through the grounds of the Greenwood Golf Club. From the club’s parking lot, skiers were welcome to use the trails for both classic and skate skiing, and 14 Wing Greenwood Community Recreation hosted several family-oriented and moonlight events.

SCOTIA XC is a volunteer group, and memberships pay for all grooming equipment and operating costs. Membership also includes the use of all eight SCOTIA XC ski trails throughout Nova Scotia, as well as discounts at various outdoor stores. Become a member today by joining SCOTIA XC Ski Club at scotiaxc.ca

If you are interested in volunteering for ski trail grooming in Greenwood, email scotiaxc@gmail.com or contact Jason MacKinnon, 902-804-2470, for more information. The faster the trails are groomed after fresh snow, the more fun for everyone keen to get outdoors for winter adventure!

Look forward to seeing you on the trails this winter! Watch SCOTIA XC and 14 Wing Greenwood PSP on Facebook for trail opening details and conditions.
