The Junior A Bage Valley Wildcats opened their home rink November 8 to military members and veterans for their annual military appreciation game.
14 Wing Greenwood Colonel Luc Vachon and Wing Chief Warrant Officer Justin Harper led the Greenwood contingent, including both the 14 Wing Brass and Reed and Pipes and Drums bands, 14 Air Reserve recruiting and the Canadian Military Wives Choir Greenwood. 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown Detachment Aldershot Major David Andrews and Master Warrant Officer Jason Moore represented Camp Aldershot. Royal Canadian Legion Ortona Branch 069 Berwick provided the colour party and senior representatives for the opening ceremony and formal puck drop.
Military members and veterans were given free admission to the evening’s game, which included lots of heritage and current Canadian military did-you-know announcements, on-ice games, and the bands’ performances during the period breaks.
