A Royal Air Force P8 Poseidon touched down at 14 Wing Greenwood earlier in October to conduct high-intensity, tactical training with a Royal Canadian Air Force CP140 Aurora at 405 (Long Range Patrol) Squadron.
The combined training was a valuable opportunity to share tactics, techniques and experience between allied maritime patrol crews; especially meaningful as the RCAF will soon transition to the cutting-edge P8A Poseidon through the Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft project.
The exercise was a tactical fusion of allied maritime strike capability, a chance to sharpen the edge of both nation’s airborne hunters with advanced anti-submarine warfare tactics, mission coordination and threat response.
