New programs for Spring – and even the summer ahead – are making their way onto the PSP Greenwood Community Recreation calendar. Fun, fitness and special event programs are all on offer:
Wheelchair basketball – May 1 to June 7, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., come for free wheelchair basketball try-it nights at the Community Centre. No experience necessary, and all abilities are welcome (ages 14-plus). Chairs will be provided. Register at https://bkk.cfmws.com/greenwoodpub/courses/index.asp
Swimming – May 21, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. $5 plus HST non-PSP Plan; free with PSP Plan.
YTGIF – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday evenings, pre-registration required.
May 2 – Nerf night (bring your own gun) and pizza, $8 plus HST non-PSP Plan; $5 with PSP Plan.
May 9 – mini stick battle and Dunkaroo dip, $8 plus HST non-PSP Plan; $5 with PSP Plan.
May 16 – outdoor basketball, $5 plus HST non-PSP Plan; free with PSP Plan.
May 23 – indoor mini golf night and cheesy fries, $8 plus HST non-PSP Plan; $5 with PSP Plan.
May 30 – glow capture the flag and fruit tacos, $8 plus HST non-PSP Plan; $5 with PSP Plan.
Family drop-in – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evenings May 6, 13, 20 and 27. Free play in the gym/ centre equipment. $5 plus HST per person non-PSP Plan; free with PSP Plan.
Feed your Mind – Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., for youth ages eight to 12. $15 plus tax PSP Plan, $20 plus tax non-PSP Plan. Pre-registration required.
Pickleball – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evenings, pre-registration required. All skill levels welcome.
Kids’ Club – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday evenings, pre-registration required. Ages six to 12.
May 5 – outdoor fort making and DIY window clings. $5 plus HST non-PSP Plan; free with PSP Plan.
May 12 – minute-to-win-it games. $5 plus HST non-PSP Plan; free with PSP Plan.
May 26 – walk to Avery’s. $8 plus HST non-PSP Plan; $5 with PSP Plan.
Summer youth day camp registration opens May 1 – PSP Community Recreation offers weekly summer day camp for youth, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Camps all have themes, with daily swimming. Junior camp is for ages six to eight; senior camp is for ages nine to 12; sports camp is for ages nine to 14. There are various rates for PSP Plan members/ non-PSP Plan members, and single or multiple youth. For more information, contact Community Recreation at 902-765-1494 local 568-5341.
