Pick up powerlifting skills at Greenwood clinic

,

A three-day powerlifting clinic at 14 Wing Greenwood will be a great occasion for interested Canadian Armed Forces members to familiarize themselves with the sport.

The May 31 to June 2 clinic at the Fitness & Sports Centre will be divided into two daily sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The sessions last approximately one-and-a-half hours each. The first two days will focus on training and technique. In addition to learning proper lift requirements for meets, participants will also gain an understanding of the different rules and requirements related to registering and competing in competitions, including the powerlifting regionals, which will be hosted by 14 Wing Greenwood this October. The last day of the clinic will be conducted as a mock powerlifting meet, giving participants an opportunity to experience firsthand what a competition would look like.

Interested CAF members are encouraged to contact Personnel Support Program instructor Tommy Daniels at Tommy.Daniels@forces.gc.ca, or PSP sports coordinator Alyssa Platt at Alyssa.Platt@forces.gc.ca, for more information and to add their name to the participant list.
